Five things to do in New York
5-The National September 11 Memorial & Museum
The 9/11 Memorial Museum opened in 2006 to commemorate all the people who died in the September 11th, 2001 Attacks and the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. The Museum and Memorial are operated by a non-profit institution whose mission is to raise funds to continue to run and manage the memorial and museum at the World Trade Center site. More info is available with this link www.911memorial.org
4-New York Skyline Viewing Platform's
A trip to the Big Apple wouldn't be complete without a picture of the New York City skyline. As you know New York has a lot of tall buildings, meaning there is more than one Observation deck to choose from. You have World Trade Center (Freedom Tower), The Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center. Each has their own unique view of the city, but we suggest The Rockefeller Center, purely because from the Rockefeller Centre observation deck you get to have the Iconic Empire state building in your skyline picture.
Tickets are pricey for all of the observation decks unless you have either a New York Pass, The New York Pass or Explorer pass then the trip to the top is free.
3-The Statue of Liberty
Once a gift from the French, the Statue of Liberty has become one of the most recognisable things in New York, When you think of New York, miss liberty is probably the first thing that springs to mind.
To get up close and personal with the Statue of Liberty you will have to pre-book your ferry and entry ticket. It’s possible to get tickets to the crown of the Statue of Liberty but make sure you book at least six months in advance.
If you wish to keep your distance from miss Liberty, then another option is booking a Liberty cruise. The liberty cruise offers great views of the statue of liberty as well as the New York city skyline. The Brooklyn Bridge connects the boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn and was named as a National Historic Landmark in 1964 and a National Historic Civil Engineering Landmark in 1972.
It’s, of course, free to walk across and offers spectacular views of the New York City skyline. Try to get up early enough to witness the sunrise while on the bridge, or go and witness the sunset, makes for some good photos.
Sometimes referred to as the “crossroads of the world” or the Center of the Universe, Times Square is also one of the worlds most visited tourist attractions with an estimated 50 million visitors annually.
It’s famous for a few things, it’s location and mainly the bright lights of the hundreds of different billboards and advertisements. It’s something you just have to experience while in New York.
An interesting way to see times square at night is by booking a night tour coach trip with topviewnyc.com. Top View NYC offer a night time coach tour of times square, giving you the best seat in the house to view the bright lights of times square visit topviewnyc.com for more info.
