Travel Stories Week 13
What's your favorite place you have visited?
This is a tough one! However, we can easily say that visiting ‘Siem Reap’ in Cambodia has been a fulfilling experience. It’s a space where 2 worlds meet and you get to experience the best of both – a synergetic convergence of the historical ruins, which evoke deep thoughts and shake your core by day, and the bustling Pub Street that offers food and drinks like no other, by sunset.
What’s the best thing you have seen while travelling?
The other side of the world UNDERWATER! Our endless trips to the gorgeous Perhentian Islands in Malaysia opened a window to the other side, quite literally! The world that exists beyond the visible water spectrum and the colour-play by unique creatures underneath, form an everlasting experience.
We have also seen some of the best sunsets of the world: from our window of the 18th floor at Kota Bharu, at the Sunset Bar of Kota Kinabalu, right at the middle of the ocean at Krabi’s never-ending seas and the moonrise at Halong Bay.
What’s your best travel story?
Travelling via all modes of transport in Vietnam, we spanned 6 cities in 11 days. Right from getting crammed in tiny sleeper seats from Hoi An to Da Nang (they clearly had just Southeast Asians in mind!) and a bumpy and filthy (and rather expensive) train ride to Hue to a scenic bike ride in Ninh Binh (where we zipped from Tam Coc to Trang An in no time, just to make it before the sunset) – we enjoyed it all. We gathered so many stories on the way that it could make for a separate post all together.
Tell us about your blog
Lyf&Spice, a travel portal run by impulsive travel junkies AdMit (Aditi and Amit) talks about the two main flavours of life – travel and food. They gather stories from Asia (particularly SE Asia and India, and hope to expand) and take you on a virtual trip with them. Trying bizarre food, giving honest opinions about a place and spending off-beat vacations are what they do best!
