Travel Stories Week 15
What's your favorite place you have visited?
There are so many cities that are on my 'have to go back' list but my favourite, undoubtedly is the magical city of Edinburgh. Edinburgh is full of magical stories and fascinating history. Even on a cold day, the warmth of the locals will take you by surprise. If I ever had to write a book, I would sit back in one of the quaint cafes at the Royal Mile and pen down my thoughts, that’s the next thing on my bucket list. No wonder the legend of Harry Potter was penned down in this historic city where J.K. Rowling decided to create magic with words.
What's the best thing you have seen while travelling?
There are so many beautiful sights that have carved a memory in my brain. It’s all photographic in my memory such that I can revisit it anytime I want. The best thing that I have seen would be the scenic Mount Fuji in Japan. Taking a trip to Japan’s most accessible lake, Kawaguchiko was totally worth it. The hot spring baths, the boat tour and the beautiful nature around is so overwhelming and the breathtaking view of Mount Fuji is unforgettable.
If I had to go back here, I would definitely plan a few days stay around so I can completely immerse myself in the beauty of this little place!
And what's your best travel story?
I have had some amazing experiences while travelling. Got to meet so many new people from different parts of the world, had so many ‘firsts’ whether it’s food, experience, or adventure sports. One memory that I would love to share would be of my visit to Galle, Sri Lanka. The locals of Sri Lanka are very warm and friendly and always ready to help. One of the nights in Galle, we decided to sit by at a beach cafe. It was about midnight and there were not many people at the cafe so we asked the server what time would the cafe shut. The server smiled, looked at us sincerely and said, “Till you are here, we will be open. We don’t ask our guests to leave.” We were so touched and amazed, lessons in hospitality need to be shared by the folks in Sri Lanka!
Tell us about your blog
Travelling is something that sets me free, helps me unveil a new side of me and my favourite part about travelling is that it let's me discover a new culture every time. There's so much to see, so much to learn and so much to absorb in this big beautiful world. So I want to just pack my bags and visit at least one new place or more, every year. And once I’m back I share my experiences on my blog, for memories or as a source of information for others.
