Travel Stories Week 45
Joyful India Holidays
What's your favourite place you have visited?
I am an avid traveller in India, and abroad. However, being born and brought up in India, and having special affection for my incredible India, i have visited numerous cities and destinations. To be very frank, each city was amazing in its way, either you talk about Amritsar, or Haridwar - Rishikesh, Nainital, Shimla, Kerala, Jaipur, Rajasthan, and so much more. The one which has mesmerized me a lot is Agra.
What’s the best thing you have seen while travelling?
One of the best things that i have seen so far is The “Taj Mahal”. I witness this magnificent architecture at sunrise, the experience of which is out of words. Taj Mahal is not just a monument, but a saga, a story that is heard of, once and again. Many interesting facts and myths have surfaced over the years, but the real history is much more fascinating than any other fiction.
What’s your best travel story?
I boarded “Gatimaan Express” Train at 8 AM in the morning from New Delhi Railway Station and reached Agra at sharp 10 AM. I had already booked a cab to reach my hotel. After some re-freshening, I headed to “Agra Fort”. It was the month of April, and it was hot. I visited Agra Fort, my Tour Guide had lots of interesting facts and stories to tell which I absolutely loved.
Next morning, I reached the Taj Mahal at 6 AM to witness that Glorious Historical monument, and “One of the seven wonders of the world”. I especially loved the detailed interior design. And it took me more than 2 hours to fully explore the Taj Mahal.
Afterwards I went to have breakfast at a decent place, and then I went back to my hotel to refresh and check out. Then after a 3-4 hours drive, I arrived in Delhi with great memories of my Agra Trip.
